“GREEN ENERGY-ENERGY CONSERVATION MISSION”
1. Mr.K.Madhubabu
(Holder of Limca book of records),
Sr.Engineer, Public health Mott MC Donald,
Chennai presented a guest lecture & conducted a Energy saver program tilted
“GREEN ENERGY-ENERGY CONSERVATION MISSION” on 10th July 2015 to
create awareness among school students & their parents through “ENERGY
SAVER CONTEST” and 70 students from our college and 16 from other 5 colleges
such as PVP Siddhartha Eng.College, Vijayawada, Andhra Loyola Eng.College,
Vijayawada, Lakki Reddy Balireddy College, Myllavaram, Vignan Eng.College,
Vadlamudi, Guntur, PG Physics of P.B.Siddhartha Science and Arts College,
Vijayawada participated.
2. Mrs. Sara Kumari and Miss. Sagufta
Fatima along with fifteen students from II MPC and II MPCS sections visited ZPH
school, Patamata, Amaravani School, Patamata, ZPH School, Ramvarappadu on
17/7/2015 and explained the need for Energy conservation and the goals of
“GREEN ENERGY-ENERGY CONSERVATION MISSION” and distributed cards in which
electrical consumption units had to be recorded for three months. To encourage
students participation, it was announced that the child whose card showed
minimum electrical consumption would be given an award.
3. Mrs.
Sara Kumari and Miss. Sagufta Fatima along with ten students from II MPC
section visited Atkinson school, one Town, Vijayawada, Ravindhrabharathi
School, BRTS Road, Vijayawada, on 20.7.2015 and explained the need for Energy
conservation and the goals of “GREEN ENERGY-ENERGY CONSERVATION MISSION” and
distributed cards in which electrical consumption units had to be recorded for
three months. To encourage students’ participation, it was announced that the
child whose card showed minimum electrical consumption would be given an award.
4. Volunteers
of Energy Conservation unit went to different schools on 20.11.2015 and
collected back all the cards distributed to them and submitted to Mr.K.Madhubabu,
Sr.Engineer, Public health Mott MC Donald, Chennai.
5. Department
of Physics organized a paper presentation contest on 25th
November,2015. Ms. Jansi Rani, Dept. of Chemistry and Ms. Deepika, Dept. of
Computer Science adjudicated the contest. V.V.S.N. Alekhya III COMP, Saranya of
III Comp, A.Vineetha of III MPC.
G.Swapna Jyothi of III MPC, Princy of II COMP, Hari Priya of II Comp and
Revathy of II MPC took part in the contest. V.V.S.N. Alekhya III COMP got the
first prize and G.Swapna Jyothi of III MPC won second prize.
6. Physics
guest lecture by Mr. B.V.R Tata scientist, Professor & Dean-Academics Homi
Bhabha National Institute Head, Condensed Matter Physics division Indira Gandhi
Center for Atomic Research, Kalpakam On “PHOTONIC BAND GAP CRYSTAL,SEMICONDUCTORS
OF LIGHT” on 26th November 2015.
7. Inspire
Club of physical sciences and BIO CLUB of Life Science organized a debate on “Great Contribution to
society: PHYSICAL SCIENCES vs. LIFE
SCIENCES” in commemoration of National science day on 23rd February
2016 in auditorium from 10.15 A.M to 12.15 P.M ,Nine students took part in
the debate.
8.Department
of Physics sent 25 students of I MPC, I MPCs, I MECS, and III CBZ of Maris
Stella College to participate in the two day Workshop on “Radiation and its
uses, Nuclear Power and Environment” on 27-28th,, February, 2016 at
PB Siddhartha College, Vijayawada. Ms.Likitha of I MPC won second prize in the
oral presentation competition.
Activities of Mrs. A.Kasturi,Head, Department of Physics
,2015-16
1. Attended a UGC Sponsored National Seminar on
“Shaping the future with Nano Sciences”on 19th and 20th
August 2015 and presented a paper on Synthesis of Nano composite powder by Ball
Milling method.
2. Attended a two-day National Conference on “Need and Role Of
Nano Science in the present-era” Organised by Department of physics(P.G) held
on 7th and 8th October 2015 at PB Siddhartha College Of Arts and Science
and presented a paper titled “Chemical effects of Nano particles-Environment
risks”.
3. Participated
in the two day Workshop on “Radiation and its uses, Nuclear Power and
Environment” on 27-28th,, February, 2016 at PB Siddhartha College,
Vijayawada.
Activities of Mrs. M.Triveni ,Head ,Department of
Physics,2015-16
1. Participated
and presented a paper titled “Nano Bio Materials-Its developments”in a two day U.G.C sponsred National Seminar
“Shaping the future with Nano Sciences” Organised by Department of Chemistry,
PB Siddhartha College Of Arts and Science,Vijayawada,on 19th and 20th
August 2015.

and presented a paper titled “Nano Science and Technology-Carbon Nanotubes”in a
two-day U.G.C sponsered National
Seminars on “Need and Role Of Nano Science in the present-era” Organised by P.G
Department of Physics,Vijayawada,held on 7th and 8th
October 2015 at PB Siddhartha College Of
Arts and Science.

Environment” on 27-28th,, February, 2016 at PB Siddhartha College,
Vijayawada.
Activities of Dr. G.
Little Flower, Department of Physics, 2015-2016
1. Arranged
an internship programme of six weeks duration from April 15th 2015
to May 31st 2015 at Efftronics Systems Pvt.Ltd, Vijayawada and sent
three students Gayathri, Swapna Jyothi and Sushma from III B.Sc MPC.
2. Published
a paper on “Exploration of volumetric, acoustic,
thermodynamic and IR studies of binary mixtures of green solvent ethyl lactate
with C3 alkanols at T = (303.15, 308.15, 313.15 and 318.15) K and atmospheric
pressure in the Elsevier Journal of Molecular Liquids 209 (2015) 153– 160.
3. Acted as a resource
person in the Teachers’ orientation programme at Seventh Day Adventist High School, Opp. PWD Ground, Vijayawada on June 8, 2015 and presented two talks on
“Achieving effectiveness in teaching and learning” and “Preparation of Annual
and weekly teaching plans”.
4. Presented an
invited talk on “Teaching that Transforms: Strategies for achieving
effectiveness in teaching and learning” in the National seminar on “Academic
And administrative Audit” organized by IQAC, J.M.J. College for Women, Tenali,
A.P on 12th and 13th August, 2015.
5. Presented a paper on “Study of ultrasonic velocity
and sound energy absorption in synthesised Nanosilver fluid” in the UGC
sponsored national seminar on “Shaping the future with Nano Sciences” organized
by dept.of Chemistry, P.B.Siddhartha College of Arts and Science on 19th
& 20th August, 2015.
6 6.Invited to be a guest faculty and covered a
chapter from Thermodynamics on
i) “Statistical Mechanics” at
P.B.Siddhartha College, Vijayawada in the following dates: i) Presented a guest
lecture on “Fundamental concepts of
Statistical Mechanics” & “Maxwell-Boltzmann Distribution Law and its application to ideal gas” on
26.09.2015 between 9-11 a.m.
ii) Presented a
guest lecture on “Basics of Quantum
Statistics” and .“Fermi-Dirac Distribution law and its application to Electron
gas” on 28.09.2015 between 2-4 p.m.
7. Participated and published an abstract on “Nanophotonics and Photonics
applications” in the UGC sponsored National seminar on “Need & Role of Nano
Sciences in the present Era” on 7th and 8th October, 2015
at P.B.Siddhartha College of Arts and Science, Vijayawada.
8. Recognized as a Research Supervisor in the department of Physics by
Krishna University.
9. Participated
in the two day Workshop on “Radiation and its uses, Nuclear Power and
Environment” on 27-28th,, February, 2016 at PB Siddhartha College,
Vijayawada.
10. As subject expert attended the Board of studies meeting in Physics held
on 29.02.2015 at JMJ College, Tenali.

Attended a 5 day workshop on “Synthesis and characterization of Nano
Particles” organized by Nanotechnology and IST department at JNTU H during
14-18th, March, 2016.

Presented a guest lecture on “Matter Matters” for PG pPhysics students at
Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada on 22.03.2016.

September 2015 at KBN College,Vijayawada.
